We designed a crowdsourcing system to gather knowledge of the different kinds of wastes through the help of our users. This way, our learning algorithm will improve to the point where wastes will be optimally categorized and handled. This will set a new state of the art for waste management.

The platform engages and motivates users to collect and report plastic garbage in the environment, through a layer of gamification and a system of economic rewards. The objective is to create an aware community with environment-oriented habits.

- Can I participate even if I don’t have a bank account?
- Yes, the other means of reward are with cryptocurrencies and voucher for concerts, special events and much more available in our online shop.
- Why do I have to reach level three to use my credits?
- You are not a person only sporadically interested in earning some money. You are our HERO. Level three makes sure you are enough motivated to perform this task properly, so that our world will exit the plastic crysis.
- How do you sort plastic waste in the different categories (e.g., bottles)?
- We use old school AI :) Peer review together with our always more accurate learning model is performing object detection and classification on the pictures taken. In the long term, we will have a dataset able to train machine learning models to effectively sort plastic wastes. This will greatly improve the waste handling chain.
- How can I make sure that there is no interest bias?
- Our platform is completely open-source. Anybody can inspect it and even contribute to improve the project and help us make the world a better place.
- Do I have to take a picture of any single waste?
- No, you can take a single picture if they are in the same location. You can earn more by telling us what do you see in those pictures with a very simple and familiar interface. When other randomly chosen peers will validate your pictures, you will receive the extra earnings.
- When will I receive my money or virtual credits?
- After you bring plastic to the collection spots you earn credit and experience. You will be able to use them as soon as you reach level three.
- How is plastic localized?
- User have to take a picture of the waste collected in the location it is collected. Anomaly detection algorithms will signal anomalous aggregation of wastes.
- What are exactly the steps in the value chain?
- After the plastic has been collected by the user, it’s carried to one of the many plastic collection spots. There, it will be routed to one of the recycling centers, where the plastic gains new life :). At any time, anyone can inspect our maps to know where the plastic is, how much in each step of the chain and both where it comes from and where is routed to.
- How do you make sure that collection spots are not re-using collected plastic to collect more money?
- After you bring plastic to the collection spots you earn credit and experience. You will be able to use them as soon as you reach level three.

- You can invite friends and get a special prize for your referrals. Furthermore you can take part in bigger challenges with the help of your friends.
